Archbishop George Desmond Tambala of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe has urged Catholics in Malawi to contribute generously towards the evangelization of the people to the ends of the world.

In his homily during the National Vocation Sunday Eucharist Celebration at Our Lady of Victory (Madisi) parish in Dowa district, Archbishop Tambala expressed a need to contribute towards the evangelization of the gospel.

The archbishop said Catholics in Malawi were able to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ today because some well-wishers did put some resources together for evangelization.

“We have people who have never seen the Holy Bible; maybe some of you have heard that in the Amazon forests there are some people who are yet to be reached fully with the gospel,” explained Archbishop Tambala.

He added that most of the infrastructure that the local church has was built using funds from people of good will to help the people of Malawi.

His Grace Tambala also urged the youths to respond to their various vocations for the church to strive in spreading the gospel.

In Malawi, National Vocation Sunday was celebrated at Madisi Parish in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe.

This year’s Vocation Sunday was celebrated under the theme “Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move.”
