ZAMBIA: Take a Centre Stage in Evangelization, Bishop Kalumba Urges Catholic Media

“Media has to take centre stage in evangelization. You are key in evangelization,” Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) Bishop Director for Communications, Rt. Rev. Valentine Kalumba, OMI said.
This was in a speech read on his behalf by the ZCCB Communications Secretary, Fr. Winfield Kunda during a meeting of the heads of Catholic media institutions in Zambia held at Kapingila House in Lusaka from 6th to 8th November 2022.
Bishop Valentine further said the Catholic Bishops in Zambia want catholic radio stations to utilise new digital media to evangelise the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Evangelisation cannot be done in isolation without the help of the media, and you become key persons in the spreading of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, as Communication Secretaries or Catholic Media Heads,” the bishop said.
Noting the challenges faced in running Christian media institutions, Bishop Kalumba called for strategies and concerted efforts to overcome them.
All Catholic Media houses from all except two of the eleven (11) dioceses were present at the meeting.
The meeting also discussed the formation of the Catholic Media Association of Zambia.
