 The
AMECEA Strategic Pastoral Plan Workshop took off this morning at Jumuia
Conference Centre, Limuru at the outskirts of Nairobi city.

After
introduction of the participants, in his opening remarks, Fr. Ferdinand
Lugonzo, the AMECEA Secretary General, pointed out that the idea of having a
ten-year Strategic Pastoral Plan was endorsed by the Bishops during the 17th
AMECEA Plenary Assembly held in Nairobi, Kenya in July 2011.
The
morning session began by paper presentations, of which Msgr. Pius Rutechura,
The Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) who was
the first to present, brought to participants attention the history, objectives
and goals of AMECEA during its inception and later. His paper was followed by
Fr. Lugonzo’s presentation in which he enlightened the participants on the
Africa’s commitment to the implementation of Africae Munus – Second
Synod for Africa Papal Exhortation document.
