An official from the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) has congratulated the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) for unveiling its Communication Policy and launching a new digital radio App, saying the initiative is a milestone in the Church’s mission of evangelization.
Praising AMECEA for the initiative in pastoral communication, the communication officer, Mr. Charles Ayetan, noted in a solidarity message shared dated Monday, August 18, “This milestone is not just about technology, it is about deepening communion, strengthening collaboration, and enhancing the Church’s mission of evangelization in the digital age.”
He narrated that, by integrating technology into its mission, AMECEA is offering a prophetic witness to how faith and digital tools can complement each other in service to God’s people.
“By embracing innovation, AMECEA continues to provide a prophetic witness, showing how faith and technology can work hand in hand to connect communities, amplify voices, and serve God’s people more effectively,” he added.
Mr. Ayetan assured AMECEA of SECAM’s fraternal support and stressed that the initiative will benefit not only Eastern Africa but also the wider Church in Africa.
“I stand with you in celebrating this new chapter of connection, creativity, and pastoral outreach. May this initiative bear abundant fruits for the Church and society across Eastern Africa and beyond,” he said.
The AMECEA Communication Policy 2025–2035 and the Digital radio App are designed to guide Catholic communication efforts in the region, promote unity in evangelization, and enhance access to Church media platforms.
