The Catholic Diocese of Ndola in Zambia has marked a significant milestone as the new Church Building at St. Antonio Fasani Parish in Ndola district has been blessed and consecrated.

During the mass for the consecration on Sunday 28th January 2024, Bishop Benjamin Phiri emphasized the essence of genuine conversion and stressed that true holiness extends beyond the church walls, as he highlighted the sincerity of hearts as a priority over the grandeur of any building, and reminding the congregation of the paramount importance of a steadfast and devoted faith.

“The blessing and consecration of the new church building does not only mark a moment of celebration but also serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring faith and community spirit that should bind the parish together,” Bishop Phiri said.

The Parish Priest, Fr Charles Tembe thanked the parishioners for their unwavering commitment to support the Church.

“This event stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the St. Antonio Fasani Parish community, symbolizing a new chapter in their spiritual journey within the consecrated walls of their newly blessed church,” Fr Tembo said.

A significant moment in the ceremony was the consecration of the altar by Bishop Phiri, where he anointed it with oil and burned incense, symbolizing the sanctification of this sacred space.

Among the people that attended the consecration include the Pastoral Director, Rev. Fr. Ephriam Mapulanga, Copperbelt Provincial Minister, Hon. Elisha Matambo, and scores of priests and the religious.
