By Masereka Peter

The Ordinary of Kasese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has cautioned Christians against discrimination based on Religion and Ethnicity but to focus on development and Education for the good of the local community.

In his speech shortly after presiding over the thanksgiving Mass of Rev. Sr. Restetuta Biira Katusabe a daughter of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus “Banyateresa Sisters” at Nyabirongo Catholic church on Sunday 21st Jan 2024, Bishop Kibira attributed under development, Poverty and hatred among the community to Christians who have lost humanity among themselves, calling for peaceful co-existence.

Bishop Kibira re-echoed his earlier warning on family heads against dividing pieces of land among children but using the available land for productivity which would help raise school fees for their children.

During the same Mass Bishop Kibira Kambale appointed and sent Rev. Fr. Leosio Masereka to lecture at St. Paul’s National Major Seminary-Kinyamasika shortly after completing his PhD in Liturgy from Rome.

Bishop Kibira asked parents to sacrifice their children to work for the church and support them, especially in formal and informal education and described a family as the first school and parents as first teachers.

Presiding over the speech during the silver jubilee in Religious life thanksgiving Mass of Rev. Sr. Jacinta Mbambu as well as celebrating different levels of education in the family of Rev. Fr. Leosio, Bishop Kibira noted that the cleric has completed his PhD in Rome before appointing him to lecture St. Paul’s National Major Seminary.

In his Homily, Bishop Kibira asked parents and guardians to work towards shaping their children in line with the church ministry and invest in children’s education, reminding them to promote love, forgiveness, and patience among others.
