The Local Ordinary of Kenya’s Garissa Diocese, Bishop George Muthaka on Saturday, December 16, challenged the laity to continue supporting the bishops and priests in their pastoral mission.

The Prelate who was presiding over the 2023 Family Day celebration for Githunguri Denary in Kiambu County, reminded the laity of their significance in the Church saying, “Without you people, the bishops and priests will not make progress in the Lord’s vineyard.”

During the ceremony, various leaders in different categories renewed their promises to serve the Church, committedly.

Some leaders were awarded certificates for their past services in the pastoral mission.

Bishop Muthaka thanked the laity for their cooperation with their priests in the local pastoral mission of the Church.

“This is something that should be emulated by others. It is the best gift the Church can expect from the Christians,” he emphasized.
