UGANDA:  Prelate Emphasizes Seriousness and Dedication at Work

The Bishop of the diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has argued Christians against laziness but rather use the God given talents and strength to neutralize poverty and food insecurity.

Bishop Kibira blamed men whom he said have played a big role in the increased poverty among household by engaging in nonproductive activities, drugs and oversleeping leaving the family under the control of women.

He encouraged men to use the God given talents, knowledge and strength in join a fight against poverty reduction and wealth creature through farming, saving and other income generating activities.

He said this in his homily while presiding over Holy Mass at Musasa Playground in Kyalhumba Parish where he confirmed 461 Christians into the Catholic faith on Sunday 20th November 2023, Bishop Kibira thanked God for the fertile Mt. Rwenzori that Christians should turn productive against food insecurity and poverty than spending all their time sleeping.

The bishop did not spare drunkard and drug abusers whom he asked to have change of mind or else, they are potential clients of cancer, kidney failure, mental disorder and other chronicle diseases among others, as well as promoters of domestic violence he said has frustrated the institution of family.

He also asked woman to use their knowledge and talents by engaging in various productive activities that will improve their livelihoods, taking good care and educating their children, as well as loving and helping those in need.

Mr. Robert Bwanganga, the Parish head of laity said the parish has a number of challenges frustrating development, including unemployment, land grabbing and poor Church infrastructure among others, before announcing plans for an orphanage center to cater for the increasing number of orphans and abandoned children in the greater Kyalhumba area.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Cosmas Asaba encouraged parents to buy bibles and other church books to their children or else they may miss on confirmation in future.      END
