Bishop Peter Musikuwa of the Catholic Diocese of Chikwawa in Malawi has appealed for support towards the evangelization of the gospel and those in need.

Speaking during the National Commemoration of the World Mission Sunday celebration at Our Lady of the Poor Ngabu Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Chikwawa on October 22, 2023, Bishop Musikuwa said the church needs faithful people who are generous to help in the evangelization of the gospel.

Bishop Musikuwa also urged the Catholic faithful in the country to come out and spread the gospel of Jesus to the ends of the world.

“We have people who are working, and it means that God has blessed you with something to do in life, and you need to do the same to someone who cannot pay you back,” said Bishop Musikuwa.

He further urged the faithful not to hide their talents in saving the Catholic Church in many areas where they might be needed.

In a conversation with Bishop Musikuwa, Chairperson of the Laity Council in Malawi, Mrs. Virginia Mahata urged the Catholics to be kind and generous for a self-reliant church.

Makhata urged Catholics to pray for the church, her missions, and her servants for a successful evangelization work.

World Mission Sunday is a day set aside for the Catholic Church throughout the world to publicly renew its commitment to the missionary movement.

This year’s World Mission Sunday was celebrated under the theme Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move.”
