ZAMBIA: Youth Leave for World Youth Day

About 200 Catholic youths have left for Portugal, Lisbon to participate in the World Youth Days in the company in the company of priests and religious.

And Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops Secretary General has encouraged the pilgrims to take the World Youths Day attendance as a privileged moment to encounter with the Lord.

Father Mukosa said this during the sendoff mass he presided in the presence Fr. Cornelius Chibamba, the National Pastoral Coordinator.

The ZCCB Secretary General reminded the young people that they were ambassadors of the church in Zambia and a representation of all the young people.

“We expect you to come back and rejuvenate the church through your experiences and inspirations,” he said.

Meanwhile, ZCCB National Youth Coordinator Fr. Christopher Kunda thanked Frs Mukosa and Chibamba for the support rendered during the process of preparation.

Fr. Kunda assured that the journey to the World Youth Day will not end as a touristic expedition but rather a deep spiritual experience for the benefit of all the youths in Zambia.

The crowd-pulling World Youth Day that comes every three years being held in Lisbon Portugal.
This 36-year-old Catholic pilgrimage, which is the world’s largest gathering of young Catholics was scheduled for August 2022 but Pope Francis postponed it last April to August 2023.
