Uganda exports more than hundred thousand trays of eggs and other agricultural products to DR- Congo through Bwera-Customs boarder weekly an opportunity Christians in the diocese of Kasese need to invest in for improved Christian’s household income, the Bishop Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira has said.

The Ordinary of Kasese who wondered why most exported products that cross Bwera-Customs border come from other districts in Uganda said the Diocese will empower Christians with poultry and other agronomic skills that will boost egg productivity in the district, hence improve exports

Bishop Kibira said as Catholic Church, they will establish a parish development committee meant to design modalities of improving household income among believers in Christ.

In his homily while presiding over Holy Mass on the Divine Mercy Sunday on 16th April 2023 at St. Michael Divine Mercy Shrine-Kabuyiri, Bishop Kibira said for development to reign in a family, community and the Church, peace and unity must be amplified at all levels.

Bishop Kibira described peace as the first gift Jesus Christ gave to his disciplines following his resurrection, thus making it the foundation of unity in prayer and good works. He added that unity in prayer and planning as a family are great pillars of peace and economic development of a married couple.

Bishop Kibira later requested the businessmen and women to spare the morning time to come to the shrine and pray for Christ’s blessings. He also asked the Catholic Church to start projects intended to improve the livelihood of all believers in Christ.

On his part, the State Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon Godfrey Kabyanga who attended the service, said that as he pushes Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council to Municipality status, Bishop Kibira should sensitize Bwera community to start projects like poultry that would enable them raise eggs to export to DR-Congo.

Hon. Kabyanga who congratulated Bishop Kibira upon his 65th birthday, reaffirmed the Ordinary’s message that requires peaceful living, reconciliation, unity and hard work against laziness and loose talk promoted by many.

Earlier, Bishop Kibira thanked God for what many people know as Kabuyiri shrine that was thought of a day after his Episcopal Ordination as he and his Germany parents went to Mpondwe border post for a tour.

He commended Papa Johnson Kalhambayi whom he said requested him at the former local Church to pray for the paralysis affected children. END
