MALAWI: President Commends the Catholic Church for Social-economic Impact

 The Malawi leader, Rev. Dr Lazarus Chakwera has commended the Catholic Church for the social economic impact brought to the country over the past decades.

Posting on his Official Facebook Page after having an audience with His Excellency Most Rev. Gianfranco Gallone, Apostolic Nuncio of Malawi and Zambia, President Chakwera commended all the efforts by the Catholic Church in the uplifting livelihood of many Malawians.

“I have restated my administration’s satisfaction with the enormous socio-economic impact the Roman Catholic Church has had in this country for decades through several interventions in various key sectors of human development” Posted Chakwera.

The Apostolic Nuncio has since pledged support to Malawi from the Catholic Church realizing improved livelihoods at household, community, and national levels.

For the past decades, the Catholic University has been one of the key government partners in improving the lives of many Malawians.

Through its commissions, the Catholic Church has helped the Malawi government to improve many sectors including education, agriculture, and health just to list some but a few.

Archbishop Gallone has bid farewell to Malawi during a Eucharistic celebration of the investiture of the Holy Pallium to Archbishop George Tambala of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe at Maula Cathedral, on Saturday 28th January 2023.

The Apostolic Nuncio who is relocated to Uruguay has since expressed gratitude to the people of Malawi for their continued support since 2019.
