Pilgrims from various parts of Uganda have started arriving at Kalongo Catholic Mission in Uganda’s Gulu Archdiocese to witness the beatification of late Fr Dr Giuseppe Ambrozoli on 20th November 2022.

Among them are the foot pilgrims from within Gulu Archdiocese the host and those from other dioceses within the ecclesiastical Province of Gulu and beyond.

Upon their arrival, pilgrims are being received with praise and worship hymns by the members of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal- (CCR) to put them in the mood of the celebration as they continue to pray for the success of the event expected to be graced by thousands of the congregation.

The Eucharistic celebration, Rosary, Divine Mercy prayers and penitential service are part of the spiritual activities being embraced by the pilgrims.

In Lira Diocese, an estimated number of 300-foot pilgrims are set to arrive at Kalongo in a prayerful and meditative journey that took them one week along the road.

Among the foot pilgrims and those that are yet to travel using various means, women are the majority compared to men who are few.

This time around, the foot pilgrims who have chosen to travel to Kalongo have in mind to present their prayer requests for the gift of healing through the intercession of Venerable Giuseppe Ambrozoli among other needs.

In other dioceses within the country, arrangements are underway by the pilgrims who are preparing to use buses and other means to witness the event in Kalongo.

Meanwhile international pilgrims from other countries across the globe are as well expected to grace the occasion in Kalongo.
