UGANDA: Bishop Kibira Asks Youths to Emulate Christ’s Humility

The Bishop of Kasese Rt. Rev. Francis Kibira Kambale has urged the youth to desist from sins which will only guide them to death before the holy throne but rather utilize their youthful time to do productive work working for their Creator.

Addressing close to four thousand Christians, most of them participants of the diocesan youth conference held at Bridge for Peace International School in Kasese Municipality, Bishop Kibira reminded the female youth as mothers and builders of the nation they must guide by good morals

Bishop Kibira said that whereas each of them was a sinner, repentance before the Holy Cross is what they ought to do, caution the youth against adultery, abortion, homosexual, lesbianism and witchcraft among others that force too far away from the will of the Creator.

Rt. Rev. Kibira encouraged the youth who are searching for marriage partner to search with faith in God.

After Mass, the Bishop handed a certificate of appreciation former Diocesan youth Chaplain Fr. Peter Masereka Kunama from Lay Apostolate commission Uganda Episcopal conference for serving as the province youth chaplain.

Earlier, the Bishop had advised the youth to be thankful for those who have sacrificed their lives for their success mostly the parents, guardians and other stakeholders.

The Bishop who asked the young people to be conscious of their dressing before coming to their places of worship, asked the youth to worship God by respecting motherhood, the position God Created for a Holy purpose.

Bishop Kibira who rallied the youth to assisting one another, asked them to form prayer and savings groups that would in future back their living conditions.

The Pastoral Coordinator for the diocese of Kasese, Rev. Fr. Expedito Masereka said early sex and pregnancies, poverty and ignorance are some of the challenges frustrating education among the youth, describing as stressing for one to leave school at a tender age in a district like Kasese that registered Saad Memorial secondary as her first post primary school in 1974.

Fr. Expedito who argued the youth against un ending anger that divert them from making right decisions, advised them to use the Holy cross to seek for peace, forgive and reconcile with their enemies for God`s mercies.

He later asked the conference participants to use their gathering and the Lent season to pray against drug abuse, homosexuality, trans-gender and agenda abased violence.

Ms Joyce Zako, the National youth Coordinator of the Uganda Episcopal conference asked the youth to support charity week in July and do as asked by the Holy Sea by assisting the elderly she described as the society archives to the young generation. Thanked God for their lives after the 2years lockdown, before urging the youth to love and work hard for their faith by living into true Catholics and followers of Christ.

Eng. Alphonse Katswamba, the Vice chairperson for the Laity council in the diocese of Kasese asked the youth to act exemplary, as well as being hard working if they were to0 deal with their future challenges.

The diocesan youth coordinator, Mr. Francis Kapurusisi had earlier asked the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese to invest more in hands on skills centers to the advantage of the youth.

Ms. Celina Kabugho, a facilitator at the conference encouraged the youth to take their time to understand those they want to marry.

Over 2000 youth are attending the conference, according to Fr. Joseph Tumusiime, the Kasese Diocesan youth coordinator.
