ZAMBIA: Nuncio Communicates Diocesan Administrator for Mpika

Following the demise of Rt. Rev. Justin Mulenga on March 20, 2020, Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) National Pastoral Coordinator Fr. Justin Matepa, is the new Diocesan Administrator for Mpika.

The Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi Archbishop Gianfranco Gallone has communicated to the faith in Mpika Diocese.

In a memo announcing the development, the ZCCB president Rt. Rev. George Lungu congratulated Fr. Matepa on his election and prayed that God guides and blesses him in his pastoral endeavors.

“We remain confident that Very Rev. Matepa will work well with the clergy, Religious, and the faithful of Mpika Diocese as they welcome him as administrator of the Diocese up to the time a new shepherd will be appointed,” the ZCCB President Bishop George Lungu wrote in a memo as he assured him of the Conference’s support.

Fr. Justin Matepa who has been working at the Catholic Secretariat in Lusaka as National Pastoral Coordinator was ordained priest in 1996 by Lusaka Emeritus Archbishop, His Grace Telesphore Mpundu in Mpika Diocese.
