SOUTH SUDAN: Missionary Calls on Christians to Work For Transformation
St Paul’s Missionary Priest at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Fr. Ukpong Mathias has called on Christians to commit themselves to work on transforming their lives.
He encouraged the faithful to overcome darkness and follow the light of Christ, Radio Emmanuel reported.
Fr Mathias told the congregation to work together in bringing about positive change in the society.
“Where there is darkness, where there is sin, we should bring light to the people. This is because light and darkness cannot work together. Light always overs power darkness,” he emphasized.
The Catholic priest added that more especially now in South Sudan, Christians should work for peace building and reconciliation so as to relieve the suffering of citizens.
“We should be instrument of reconciliation and peace. When we get to troubled situations, we must bring reconciliation. Where there is fighting, we are made to bring reconciliation and peace”, he appealed.
Fr Mathias said this to the congregation gathered at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Torit on Sunday.
