KENYA: Catholic University of Eastern Africa CUEA Loses a Student in Road Accident

Tragedy struck the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) on the Wednesday, December 12, when three of its students were involved in a fatal road accident which claimed the life of a female 4th year Student from Tanzania, Miss Glory Kinariki Msuya.

Glory, a 4th Year student in the Faculty of Law ,met her death along Mbagathi Way in Nairobi when the car she was travelling alongside two other students, Miss Godsave Naibaraki Megiroo and Miss Tracy Wambui Mungai, both also 4th Year students at Faculty of Law, lost control and hit a pole. Tracy and Godsave are hospitalised in Nairobi where they are being treated.

AMECEA Deputy Secretary General Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chimombo has expressed heartfelt sorrow and solidarity with CUEA following the tragedy in a message of condolence sent on behave of AMECEA Secretariat staff to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Mbugua on behalf of the University.

“We were very stunned to hear this news and cannot easily accept that it really happened. During this difficult moment, our thoughts and prayers are with you,” the message said.

He assured the institution and the students who survived the accident of prayers as they are currently receiving treatment in hospital. “May God of comfort continue to bless them for a quick recovery.”

“We express our confidence that, at this sad time in the life of CUEA fraternity, the faith in God and solidarity among people are essential. Our love and sympathy go to you, the family and friends of Glory, the staff and the entire student community.”
