ANZANIA: ‘No Teen pregnancies in Catholic owned schools’ – Archbishop Dallu

The Archbishop of Songea Most Rev Damian Dallu concurs with Tanzanian President His Excellency John Magufuli’s decision to deny students who become pregnant a chance to continue with their education in government sponsored schools saying that, even Catholic owned schools will not allow such students to continue with education after giving birth.

In his Homily during the Celebration of the Holy Mass at Ilolo Parish-Iringa where he ordained a new priests Jerome Mtatifikolo, Archbishop Dallu said that civil societies and individuals who support the idea of allowing students to continue with education after giving birth, are destroying African culture and ruining the nation’s reputation.

“That’s not part of African culture, it’s a foreign idea that wants us to defy our culture. What kind of schools will we have if we allow students to be mothers?” He asked.

He encouraged the faithful to make a great spiritual preparation as they plan to get into the Sacrament of Marriage by focusing on spiritual orientation rather than physical engagement.
