ZAMBIA: ACWECA Gets a New Chairperson

The Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern
and Central Africa (ACWECA) has elected a new Chairperson of the Association
under the name of Rev Sr. Prisca Matenga, Superior General of the Daughters of the
Redeemer (DOR) from Zambia in an election that took place at Andrews Motel in
Lusaka, Zambia on 27th August, 2014.  

 
Rev Sr Matenga is taking over from Sr. Margaret
Aringo (Kenya) who served the association for one term of three years.
 

According to the information released by ACWECA;
the position of the Secretary General of the

Rev Sr Enelesi Chimbali

association is taken by Rev Sr Enelesi
Chimbali of the Congregation of the Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary (SBVM),
Malawi.  Sr Chimbali is replacing Sr
Catherine Okari (Kenya) who served the Association for 9 years. 

 
Other ACWECA Executive Board Members include: Sr.
Ann Henrietta Nyangoma (Vice Chairperson- Kenya), Sr. Susan Ndezo (member,
Uganda), Sr. Clementina Nkandira (member, Malawi), Sr. Therese Nyoni (member,
Zambia), Sr. Sr. Lucy Maliekal (member, Tanzania), Sr. Mary Abut Daniel
(member, S. Sudan), Sr. Noha Mykadi Koko Angilo (member, Republic of Sudan). The
name of the representative from Eritrea and Ethiopia will be forwarded later.
 
Meanwhile, the
next  ACWECA General Assembly will be held in Kenya
in 2017.
