A Catholic nun and Head Teacher in Solwezi Diocese, Zambia, Sr. Sharon Phiri, has urged new graduates from Bambino Convent School to apply the good morals they have learned at the school to their everyday lives, which would help them influence their decisions, friendships, and future endeavors in society.
Sr. Phiri, a member of the Sisters of the Child Jesus (SCJ), said this in her speech during the Bambino Convent School 9th Graduation ceremony themed “Small Little Seeds, Big Hopes,” held at Wezi Hall on Saturday, 7th November 2025.
The ceremony for the 40 reception class and 35 Grade 7 learners was attended by the Guest of Honour, the Solwezi District Education Standards Officer (DESO), the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), Teachers, Clergy, Religious Sisters, Parents, and Invited Guests.
The Headteacher emphasized the importance of good morals and prayer in guiding the graduates’ lives, saying, “Let the good morals you have learned here guide your lives. Let them guide your decisions, your friendships, and your future path. Hold on to prayer. When challenges come – and they will – do not forget the power of kneeling before God. For it is in prayer that we find strength, direction, and peace.”
“Today we celebrate two wonderful milestones: The Reception class, our youngest learners, who are beginning their formal education journey. And the Grade 7 class, who are completing their primary education and preparing to move on to secondary school,” explained the Head Teacher of Bambino Convent School.
Speaking at the same graduation ceremony, the Guest of Honour, Solwezi District Education Standards Officer (DESO) Mr. Felix Luputa, who is based in the North Western Province’s Solwezi town, Zambia, urged graduates to hold on to the values and morals instilled in them as they embark on their educational journey.
“As you embark on this journey of life, remember that it’s a path with twists and turns that will challenge you. To navigate these curves, you will need guidance, education, and a strong foundation,” said Mr. Luputa.
The Senior Educational Officer praised the Catholic Church’s partnership with the government in providing quality education in the province, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving educational goals.
And Grade 7 Class graduate representative, Carol Nayame, urged her fellow graduates to carry forward the values instilled in them by Bambino Convent School’s teachers, highlighting honesty, hard work, respect, and prayer.
Nayame encouraged the graduates to grow into strong individuals making a positive impact, saying, “Let us carry forward the values we have learned…We are little seeds, but with hope and effort, we can grow into strong trees that bear fruit for our families, our country, and the world.”
The Bambino Convent School 9th Graduation Ceremony was a vibrant celebration filled with music, dance, bible verses, and poetry performances.
