ZAMBIA: Zambian Prelate Urges Christians to Live as Pilgrims of Hope
Diocese of Mansa Media
During the solemn Mass for All Souls Day on Sunday, November 2, at the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Zambia, Bishop Patrick Chilekwa Chisanga of Mansa Diocese delivered a moving homily filled with hope and encouragement as he reminded the faithful that while each person experiences the pain of losing a loved one, Christians are called to live as pilgrims of hope, recognizing that this world is not our final destination.
Bishop Chisanga, a member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (OFM Conv.), assured the congregation that the merciful love of God cleanses and renews all souls.
Bishop Chisanga further encouraged the faithful to embrace goodness every day, saying, “The best moment you have in life is the present, not the future.” He stressed that reconciliation must begin from the heart and urged everyone not to let a day pass without practicing it.
In conclusion, he appealed to all to accept one another as they are, with their strengths and weaknesses, and to live in peace and understanding. The homily was a powerful reminder that faith, love, and hope must continue to guide Christians on their journey.
