UGANDA: Bishop Kibira Warns Political Leaders with Zero Accountability

By Masereka Peter

The Ordinary of Uganda’s Kasese Diocese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has asked Political leaders to strengthen teaching the community, basics of development and discipline instead of preaching politics.

He threatened to use the media in identifying individual politicians seeking public mandate but with zero accountability on the ground in their term of office.

In his homily on Sunday, January 21, while presiding over the Silver Jubilee thanksgiving Mass of Rev Sr. Restetuta Katusabe Biira a member of the daughters of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus commonly known as Banyateresa Sisters, Bishop Kibira wondered why most political leaders have failed to empower senior citizens with experience to sensitize the masses about moral rehabilitation and skills for development.

He noted rather that politicians only seek additional terms in office that look not desirable to them.
