The Ordinary of the Diocese of Zomba Right Reverend Alfred Chaima has challenged the Association of Servants of Charity in the diocese, locally known as Atumiki a Chifundo, to lead the humble and exemplary life of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Speaking during a meeting with the grouping on Tuesday, Bishop Chaima encouraged the grouping to continue their vision of serving people the poor and the needy around them.

“I encourage you to be led by the Word of God and to indeed learn from the exemplary humble life of our Mother Mary,” said Chaima.

Bishop Chaima also urged members of the grouping to be agents of love in their families, Small Christian Communities, at the parish level and up to the diocese level.

Established in 2006 in the Diocese of Zomba, Atumiki a Chifundo is a grouping that focuses on helping people in need.

The association supports school-going children and the elderly by providing things they lack for their basic lives. They also visit people who are sick in their communities as well as in hospitals to pray with them.

Currently, Atumiki a Chifundo members are found in twelve out of twenty parishes that comprise Diocese of Zomba.
