The Diocesan Youth Chaplain in Diocese of Kasese has urged youths to promote evangelization in the local community.
Fr. Joseph Tumusiime said the youth should actively participate in the evangelization ministries alongside pursuing their education, saying the Church needs elite and youth in bid for its growth.
In an interview with our reporter shortly after Mass at St. Luke Kasokero Catholic Church in Nsenyi Parish on Sunday 3rd December 2023 during the flagging off of a walk with Mother Mary ahead of the mega diocesan youth conference, Fr. Tumusiime who described evangelization as key to moral rehabilitation, advised the youth to strengthen their relationship with God during Advent season. He wondered why some youths were overwhelmingly taken by sports than evangelization.
Fr. Tumusiime who is leading Nsenyi youths in the walk with Mother Mary for a period of a period of forty days prays for Gods mercies to have the participants transformed holistically in their lives.
In His homily, he said nobody knows the day and time Jesus Christ is coming back on earth therefore challenging Christians to always get prepared for Jesus’ second coming.
Fr. Tumusime who also doubles as Diocesan Vocation Director said the walk with Mary that started from St, Luke Kasokero Roman Catholic church in Nsenyi parish is expected to end on 12th January, 2024 at Christ the King Kiswahili Catholic Church and later youths join their conference at Nsenyi catechetical Centre.
The walk with Mary will be led by Nsenyi Parish under theme, “Call on me and I will answer on you”.
