‘The preservation of the Catholic Church integrity and doctrine are greater than her servants,’ Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira, the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese has said.

The Bishop said protecting the Mother Church and fulfilling what the Sacred Scriptures tell the world is the role of every Christian.

In his homily while presiding over Homily Mass for the official opening of St. Yohana Maria Muzei Nyakahya Catholic Parish which is the thirteenth Parish in the diocese, Bishop Kibira asked Christians for transparency and accountability, and promotes the Catholic Church values to preserve the Mother Church.

Bishop Kibira listed unity, team work, helping the needy, love and accountability as the secret for developing and managing any catholic Parish in the entire Mother Church.

On politicians, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale attributed under development in the country to selfish politicians who seek public mandate on lies. He described them as promoters of idleness and laziness who only engage people in street talks and donate small handouts under what he termed “Peoples Parliament” spending the whole day discussing politics than encouraging them to work.

He who said leaders should imitate Jesus Christ as good leader wondered why some politicians have failed to educate the public about developmental issues but instead promote poverty and hate speech for selfish interests.

Bishop Kibira revealed that on 18th November 2023, Diocese of Kasese will officially open her diocesan Hospital Mt St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Ordinary later re-echoed the message by the President of France, saying children were losing out on moral because their parents have not done much to fulfill their obligations, thus, encouraging them to turn their homes into first churches where their families can be grouped and guided on how to deal with their future.

The parish head of the laity, Mr. Demetrious Mawa Bwambale said despite a number of achievements since the Bishop appointed the first priests in 2021, the parish is still faced with the challenges ranging from a sub-standard presbytery, administration block and means of transport.

On Parenting

Thatha Asasio Kamalha Buhaka of the Diocese of Kasese has called for double efforts for family planning sensitization strategy that would see parents bear manageable number of children.

Fr. Kamalha, the Superman as commonly known by his peers, asked Christians to bear affordable children who would be relevant to the community and the Church of God than those that would turn into beasts and a liability to society.

Ordained in August 1983, Fr Kamalha who emphasized natural family planning methods said it was a sin for a parent to bear children he cannot not fully provide with basic needs, including bringing them up to the will of God.

Addressing congregants after holy Mass at the official opening of St. Yohana Maria Mzei Nyakahya Parish in the Diocese of Kasese over the weekend, Fr Thatha Kamalha described good feeding as medication and life thus, asking expectant mothers to feed on balance diet, take good rest and fully attend to their antenatal shifts for their survival and that of their unborn children.

The former Holy Trinity Kyalhumba parish priest later warned mothers against uncalled for stress than does not only harm their unborn children but damage their bodies, thoughts, feelings, behavior and health, resulting into high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, obesity and diabetes among others.

During Holy Mass, the Bishop Kibira who later confirmed Fr. Joseph Tumusiime as the parish priest and Rev. Fr. Godwin Kibaba as curate of Nyakahya was assisted by the Diocesan Vicar General, Msgr. Landaus Bwambale, the chancellor Rev. Fr. Vito Kule, the Pastoral coordinator Rev. Fr. Expedito Masereka and Rev. Fr. Joseph Kule Syathetha the treasurer among several other Priests.
