And Archbishop Chama who is also the University Chancellor has added that academic excellence alone is not enough to drive progress and transform society but must be coupled with integrity and service.

“Integrity is the moral compass that guides our actions and decisions, ensuring that we uphold the highest ethical standards in everything we do. As graduates of Zambia Catholic University, I urge you to be ambassadors of integrity, both in your personal and professional lives. Let your actions speak louder than words, and let your unwavering commitment to truth, honesty, and transparency be a guiding light in a world that often veers astray,” he said.

Meanwhile Most Rev. Chama said service is the natural extension of academic excellence and integrity.

“It is a noble calling to utilize your knowledge and skills for the betterment of humanity. As you step into the world beyond these university walls, I implore you to embrace the spirit of service, to identify the needs of your communities, and to actively contribute to their development. Whether it is through your chosen professions, volunteer work, or civic engagement, let the spirit of service be ingrained in every fiber of your being,” he said.
