Catholic Relief Services through the Association of Consecrated Women in East and Central Africa (ACWECA) supported SCORE partners to develop a program Advocacy Manual for the training of Sisters from East and Central Africa Region. CRS and ACWECA conducted a two-day training on how to use the Advocacy Manual for improving programming targeting 52 sisters from the Associations of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK), Zambian Association of Sisterhood (ZAS), Association of Women in Religious Institutes of Malawi (AWRIM) and the member congregations. The trained Sisters are expected to cascade the information and knowledge gained to other sisters as per the work plan developed.

“After this training, I am confident enough to support my organization conduct stakeholders mapping, analysis, and evaluate our advocacy efforts,” says Sr. Joyce Nyagucha AOSK-SCORE ECD Coordinator.

The ACWECA Secretary General, Sr. Bridgita Samba (SSJ), and Sr. Pauline Acayo (LSMIG) the coordinator of the SCORE ECD project supported by Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, thanked the participants for their active participation and commitment to enhance advocacy in their project implementation.

It is envisioned that the cadre of Sisters trained will create influence on policy issues with key opinion stakeholders and leaders while contributing to the sustainability of the organization/congregations.
