UGANDA: Bishop in Uganda Cautioned Violation of Children’s Right

Bishop Joseph Franzelli, the Chairman of the Social Communication Commission of the Uganda Episcope Conference (UEC) has described total conflict marrying away underage children.
Other than fueling domestic violence, Bishop Franzelli said physical and psychological growth were key pillars to those intending to marry if they were to positively respond to their roles.
During an interview with AMECEA Correspondent in Kampala on Saturday 13th May 2023 the second last day of the communication week in Uganda, the retired Bishop asked parents to consider the age aspect before supporting their children for marriage.
He asked intending couples and their parents to know that according to science, the body especially among ladies, need to get stronger and ready for child bearing if mothers and their babies were to keep healthy.
Earlier, Bishop Franzelli who sounded tough against abortion described it as a threat and frustration of life. Therefore, he asks parents to remind their children about the beauty of family that cannot be realized if the vise is promoted.
The prelate warned communicators against publishing stories and picture that violet the rights of the young generation but rather get involved in a fight and acts as advocate for the children’s right in the world
He also asked parents against mere sending children to Church be in their company for guidance about spiritual roles.
