Copperbelt region Minister Elisha Matambo made the commendation Wednesday, 10th May, 2023 when he flagged off the trip to Malawi in the company of Catholic Diocese of Ndola Vicar General Fr Lewis Mutachila.

This was at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Ndola.

And Copperbelt Minister has thanked Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ndola Rt. Rev. Benjamin Phiri and well-wishers for the initiative of collecting donations for the people of Malawi.

“Catholic is a Church which does not only believe in just talking, it believes in actions every time. So, we are grateful as government to be associated to the Church like Catholic, who always want to walk their talk,” Mr. Matambo said.

“The gesture by the Catholic Diocese of Ndola is a clear demonstration of Christian values of helping out the brother or sister in need,” he said.

Bishop Phiri also thanked the faithful in Ndola Diocese and cooperating partners for the donations.

“I am aware of the fact that it was not only Catholics who donated these items but many other people of good will. We thank all those who helped us to coordinate this program of which we can mention our partners accompanying us to Malawi led by Prof. Naison Ngoma,” Bishop Phiri.

The diocesan radio reports that the donated assorted items include mostly food stuffs and clothes.
