Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Monze, Zambia Rt. Rev. Raphael Mweempwa has appealed to Religious congregations to live up to their charisms.

He said every congregation has a particular contribution to make towards the mission of evangelization by responding to a particular vocation.

He also invited the married faithful to witness to the love of God as couples.

Meanwhile, Bishop Mweempwa congratulated the Daughters of St. Paul for their work in the mission of evangelization.

He said this Wednesday, January 25, when he inaugurated and blessed the state of the building for the Daughters of St. Paul also known as Pauline Sisters.

The new building in the suburbs of Longacres in Lusaka will house a convent and Catholic Bookshop.

“Sisters, congratulations for the great work you are doing in the mission of evangelization. Also, congratulation for this building which will serve as your home and a bookstore. It is a marvel. Congratulations, we are proud of you,” Bishop Mweempwa said.

The Prelate who has been at the helm of the Diocese since May last year, further noted that the building enables the Sisters to play a significant role in their mission as they continue to response to the call of God according to their charism.

“I urge you to continue expanding to other dioceses because Christians need to be exposed to the Catholic literature. Your presence matters to witnessing physically as the publications reach out to a lot of people,” he said.

Speaking at the same function, Regional Superior of the Daughters of St. Paul Sr. Rosemary Mwaiwa thanked the Zambia Pauline Sisters for the construction of the building which has since been named St. Paul’s house.

The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Paul was established in 1952 in Rome and came to Zambia in 1994.
