The 20th November 2022 is set for the beatification of Fr Dr Joseph Ambrozoli in Kalongo, Uganda’s Gulu Archdiocese, a ceremony that is expected to be graced by thousands of people from Uganda and across the globe.

At the moment, preparations are ongoing in the Archdiocese of Gulu where different committees are working, especially in mobilizing resources for the day.

As part of resource mobilization, Christian farmers under the Association of Cassava Commercialization and Industrialization project are actively participating in collecting funds among themselves to support the Church in organizing the event.

According to the Coordinator of the project Fr Matthew Okun Lagoro, Christian farmers are participating in the resource mobilization as part of their contributions to the Church. He went on to share that the contribution being made by the farmers is as a result of the success they registered under their various farmers groups.

Fr Lagoro further revealed that the active involvement and participation of the Christian farmers in the fundraising drive, in view of the beatification program has inspired other people to take part in the preparations.

As a member of the Finance Committee in the beatification program, Fr Lagoro is optimistic that with participation and involvement of other stake holders, the program will be successfully held.

Apart from mobilizing resources, other pastoral and spiritual exercises are also being conducted to prepare Christians to reflect more on the significance of the beatification which is to be held among the local population in the region.

Apparently, a catechesis on the life of Fr Dr Joseph Ambrozoli, praying of the Rosary and Adoration services are being conducted in parishes within Gulu Archdiocese as a way to spiritually prepare the Christians and the entire ecclesiastical Province.

Other dioceses within the Province are also involved in the preparations following an invitation by the Archbishop of Gulu Most Rev John Baptist Odama.
