UGANDA: Late Bishop Emeritus Martin Luluga to be Laid to Rest on August 17

Catholic Diocese of Nebbi in Uganda has notified Christians that the late Bishop Emeritus Martin Luluga will be laid to rest on Wednesday, August 17, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral in Northern Uganda.

In a message shared on behalf of the Local Ordinary of Nebbi, Bishop Raphael p’mony Wokrach, the Chancellor for the Diocese has noted the Prelates’ request that during the trying moment, “requiem Mass be celebrated every day at 5:00 pm, in all parishes for the soul of Bishop Martin until burial.”

The Chancellor Fr. David Ongiertho added that Radio Maria- Nebbi will be broadcasting the Mass from Cathedral.

The late Bishop Emeritus who died on Saturday, July 30, was born in 1933 and was ordained priest of  Arua Diocese in 1963.

Twenty-three years later, in 1986 Fr Luluga was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Gulu and was consecrated in 1987 as Titular Bishop of Aquae in Dacia.

In 1990, the late Bishop was appointed the Local Ordinary of Gulu Catholic Diocese and nine years later he was transferred to Nebbi Diocese where he served for 12 years till his retirement in 2011.

Bishop Luluga has dies at the age of 89 year.
