TANZANIA: TEC Launches Donation Campaign Ahead of 20th AMECEA Plenary

The Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) has officially launched the donation for the 20th AMECEA Plenary which is expected to take place in the country from July 8-18 this year, thus inviting the faithful and all people of good will to donate through VODACOM PAY NUMBER 5556667 where the money will be received into the TEC-AMECEA 2022 Account.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony graced by presence of various media in the country, TEC Secretary General, Rev. Fr Charles Kitima said the Plenary inauguration will take place at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium with the presence of the President of United Republic of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan as Official Guest, and the main agenda will be on environmental protection for sustainable development to the people within AMECEA region.
“The plenary will bring together about 450 environmental experts from the country and other 10 from each AMECEA country. Also, more than 120 bishops from the countries forming the AMECEA which includes Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Eritrea with Somalia and Djibouti as observer… We ask the faithful and those of good will to contribute on the coming plenary and we invite them to donate any amount of money even if it is 1,000 Tanzania shillings,” he said.
He said the plenary will focus on Pope Francis Encyclical ‘Laudato Si’ Ecology and care of our common home as a part of an evaluation of the implementation of the document.
