ZAMBIA: Catholic Care for Children Trains Children How to Handle Violence

As the Catholic Care for Children (CCC) in Zambia continues to help reintegrate children from foster care facilities into families, a workshop has been held for 32 children to train them on how to overcome fear and violence.

CCC Zambia Coordinator Sr. Cecilia Nakambo has disclosed that so far 80 have been trained.

In an interview at Living Hope Foundation Sr. Nakambo said that the training is aimed at equipping the children with skills on how to face all forms violence peacefully as they get reintegrated into family.

She explained that the training will also build self-esteem in the children so that that are capable of facing life challenges and other forms of trauma.

“We are training them, giving them tactics how to handle negative forces in society and in childcare facilities,” she said.

The training targets to train 200 children.
