SOUTH SUDAN: New Catholic Radio Enters South Sudan

The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has on Monday, December 7, 2020, launched the construction of a new radio station in South Sudan.
Radio Maria, a network of Catholic radios across the world, will be housed at St. Joseph Parish in Juba, Radio Bakhita reported.
Speaking during the laying of the foundation stone, Archbishop Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla of the Archdiocese of Juba, said the new radio will strengthen the evangelization of the word of God in South Sudan.
On his part, the Coordinator of Radio Maria Africa, Paolo Taffuri said the presence of Radio Maria in South Sudan will fulfil their vision to bring the word of God to every believer.
Radio Maria is a network of nearly one hundred Catholic radios across the world that uses the media for evangelization.
According to Fr Noel Nyombe Santo, Director of Radio Bakhita said the entry of Radio Maria into South Sudan will boost the media industry in the country.
The Catholic Church in South Sudan currently has nine radio stations across the nation.
