ETHIOPIA: Translated Version Of The Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Christus Vivit” Is Launched In “Amharic” (Ethiopian Local Language)

The post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Christus Vivit” is translated in to Amharic (The Ethiopian local language). The National Youth Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Ethiopia coordinated the entire process of the translation, printing and the distribution. The book is launched on the last day of the 13th month of the Ethiopian year which is the Eve of Ethiopian New Year of 2013.

It has been only seven months since the National Youth office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Ethiopia is launched officially the service brought this book to be published in these few months. The translation was done by the well-known Father Daniel Assefa (Dr.) OFMCap and his literature team.

His Eminence Berhaneyesus Cardinal D. Suraphiel Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop, Reverend Father Teshome Fekre (Dr.) the Secretary General of CBCE, Father Daniel Assefa OFCAP (Dr.), youth representatives and all the staff of the Catholic Bishops conference of Ethiopia attended the launching occasion.

On his message HE. Cardinal Berhaneyesus said ‘’it is one of the expected documents from the youth office, as Pope Francis urged us to live Christ as our young life, we all need to live the way Christ is teaching”

He also mentioned that “youth are the now of God.” Cardinal Berhaneyesus gave his benedictions in a special way to the youth office and encourage the Volunteer youth who have been actively helping the office in so many different services.

As the world is passing through the pandemic the Ethiopian Youth Office coordinator Sr. Selam Berhanu, DHM extends her prayer for all the youth in the country and said that “the book is a special New Year gift to the Ethiopian youth.” She also reminded them to take all the precautious measures and help the community stay healthy.

The Amharic Version of the book has 126 pages with a very colorful cover page quoting His Holiness “Christ is Alive and he wants you to be alive” and at the back cover a fresh planted seedling which represents the hope for our youth.

The office has planned to distribute the book allover Ethiopia sooner so all the youths from dioceses, vicariates and apostolic administrations could find this life changing guidance’s from our father the pope.
