Good leaders
recognize that they do not have all the answers and are constantly re –
educating themselves on their work and sharpening their leadership skills; says
Fr. Daniel Rono, Acting General Secretary of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB).
Fr. Rono was
addressing the participants at the opening of AMECEA USCCB Capacity Building training on
Leadership and Management for top management officials from the Dioceses across
the country on Tuesday 24th 2015.
Fr. Rono
said that leadership is never easy and no matter how effortlessly one may
appear to manage, the path of a leader is one fraught with constant challenge
and surprise. “Jesus Himself gave us the pattern when He stooped to wash His
disciples’ feet, a task that was customarily done by the lowest of slaves (John
13),” he added.

“We appreciate the enormous
responsibilities you face every day and your great contribution you are making
to the Catholic Church in Kenya,” he said adding that “We
appreciate your desire for skills enhancement which has made you attend this
capacity building training.”

On behalf of
the Bishops’ Conference, Fr. Rono also thanked AMECEA for facilitating the
workshop in collaboration with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB). “This workshop is timely and will equip YOU as the senior management
staff in the Dioceses and by extension the Church in Kenya,” he said.
