SOUTH SUDAN: Churches to Hold National Prayers for Peace

Council of Churches chairman, Bishop Michael Taban on Wednesday said churches across the country are
expected on Saturday to conduct have general prayers for peace.
 
Bishop
Taban told the press in Juba that the Church realized that Advent
seasons in the last three years were marked with violence, requiring national
prayers, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
Bishop Taban
said the national prayer is to seek God’s mercy to restore peace and
reconciliation in the country, to encourage the church to be salt and light
through prayers and fasting in the country and the world.
 
He added
that another aim is to pray for peaceful celebration of Christmas and the New
Year 2015.
 
The Bishop
said the prayers started at all levels.
