UGANDA: Ugandan Youth Travel to Brazil for the World Youth Day 2013

A group of 30 Ugandans is
set to leave for the 28th World Youth Day (WYD) 2013 in Rio de
Janeiro – Brazil. They will be gone for a period of two weeks during which they
will participate in various activities of the WYD. The Ugandan Team will
animate the English-speaking pilgrims during Catechesis, and their priests will
hear confessions and concelebrate in the Masses.
Three Ugandan delegates will
participate in the Vigil and Final Mass on stage with Pope Francis, on July 27th
and 28th, at Campus Fidei, in Guaratiba, the West End of Rio de
Janeiro. The selected individuals will wear typical dresses demonstrating their
cultural diversity.
The delegation is comprised of 4
animators from Uganda Catholic Secretariat, chaplains and youth from the
dioceses of Arua (4), Kabale (1), Kampala (13), Kotido (1), Lugazi (1), Moroto
(1), Nebbi (4), and Soroti (1).
