SUDAN: Apostolic Nuncio to Sudan and Eritrea Transferred

Francis I on 11th July, 2013 appointed Archbishop Leo Boccardi as
apostolic nuncio to Iran. Archbishop Boccardi was previously apostolic nuncio
to Sudan and Eritrea.

Born on 15th
April, 1953, Archbishop Boccardi was ordained a priest on June 24th
1979 in Larino Italy and was appointed Titular Archbishop of Bitettum on 16th
January 2007 at the same time he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio of Sudan. On 30th
January of the same year, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio of Eritrea.
