to be Muslim extremists shot dead a Catholic
priest outside his church in the capital of Zanzibar on Sunday, the second such
attack on the Muslim-majority island in recent months.

The Priest, Rev Fr Evarist Mushi was shot
dead Sunday morning, February 17, on his way to church. Report from Zanzibar
says Fr Mushi was blocked by two young men at the entrance of the church in
Zanzibar City, the capital, where “one of the attackers shot him in the
head.

This is the second incidence in Zanzibar; on

community is a minority there, an estimated three percent of the 1.2 million
population, which is otherwise almost entirely Muslim.
