SOUTH SUDAN: Archbishop Lukudu Returns Home from Italy

The
Catholic Archbishop of Juba on Monday 23rd September, returned home
after being away in Italy for almost five-month. He had gone to Rome for a
surgery on the left knee.

 
According
to reports from Bakhita Radio, Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro told the press
shortly after arrival at Juba International Airport that the medical mission
was accomplished successfully.
He
said that after the left knee surgery, he can now walk properly adding that he
was happy to return to the Archdiocese and the country.
The
Archbishop said that while in Rome, he was also following on the situation in
the country and was aware that the President of the Republic of South Sudan
Salva Kiir had brought in new ministers to serve people.
He
congratulated the new ministers and urged them to deliver services to the
people of God diligently. Archbishop Lukudu also urged the people of South
Sudan to unite and love one another.
He
passed his condolence to the victims of terrorists attack at the Nairobi
Westgate shopping Mall, lamenting that the situation was shocking and all must
pray for the victims.
He
said that while in Rome he met some very important Church authorities though he
did not meet the Pope; he however promised that he will invite him to Juba one
time.
