SOUTH SUDAN: Presient Kiir Disolves the Government

A fortnight from its second anniversary of independence the president of South
Sudan, General Salva Kiir
Mayardit has resolved the government 
including the dismissal of his Vice President Riek Machar.
Information received from Catholic Radio Network of South sudan said the
President of the Republic issued a presidential decree removing the
vice-president, Riek Machar Teny, and dissolved the whole government.

 
President Kiir directed Secretary-General Abdoun Agaw and the
undersecretaries of the various ministries to run the government.
Report from South Sudan said the move was welcomed by South Sudan Council
of Churches while calling on the people to stay in peace. A survey conducted by
Bakhita radio in Juba revealed that many citizens were in agreement with
President’s decision and still they were appealing for peace.
