Rev. Cornelius Korir said, Kenya is a blessed<br \/>\nCountry and her people beginning with the leaders need to shun corruption,<br \/>\nnegative ethnicity and radicalization that tears the Country apart and embrace<br \/>\noneness, tolerance of one another and creation of job opportunities for the<br \/>\nyouth.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nLent is a 40-day period of fasting, prayer and<br \/>\npenance before Easter. In the Christian tradition, this is the period of the<br \/>\nliturgical year from Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday (Sundown). This annual<br \/>\ncommemoration prepares the faithful through prayer, repentance, giving alms and<br \/>\nself-denial, for the events linked to the Passion of Christ and the celebration<br \/>\nof his resurrection.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nReferring to Pope Francis\u2019 Lenten message, Bishop<br \/>\nKorir reiterated that \u201cthe season of Lent in this jubilee year be lived more<br \/>\nintensely as a privileged moment to celebrate and experience God\u2019s mercy.\u201d He<br \/>\ncalled on Kenyans to forget their past experiences and to forgive and love one<br \/>\nanother as the country moves towards the general election 2017.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nHe added that \u201cin the season of Lent, the Catholic<br \/>\nChurch calls her faithful to be in fellowship and solidary with their brothers<br \/>\nand sisters who are less fortunate and support the church through prayers,<br \/>\nself-denial and alms giving.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nLeading by example, KCCB steered by CJPC National<br \/>\nExecutive Secretary Beatrice Odera donated clothes and foodstuff to more than<br \/>\nfour thousand households in Mathare slums in Ngong Town after the Launch of the<br \/>\nLenten campaign.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nIn the same spiritual mood of lent, Kenyans have<br \/>\nbeen called upon to reflect and advocate for change in problems affecting the<br \/>\nsociety on selected topics for reflection for five weeks: Responsible<br \/>\ncitizenry, care environment, family values, insecurity and corruption<br \/>\nrespectively.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;\">\nThe Launch that was preceded by a walk through<br \/>\nNgong Town to the Cathedral was attended by Ngong Bishop Rt. Rev.
