\nThe Chairman of the Kenya Conference
\nof Catholic Bishops (KCCB), His Eminence John Cardinal Njue has called for
\n a promotion of Christian unity as he cautioned Young Christian professionals to make their
\nimpact felt by providing guidance to the country. <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nSpeaking during a meeting of the
\nKenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) at the All Saints Cathedral in
\nNairobi on 25th January 2014, Cardinal Njue said Kenya is undergoing
\nhard times reiterating on the need for young Christian professionals to guide
\nthe nation. <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nCardinal Njue also warned against
\nruining the lives of young professionals. \u201cRuining the lives of these young
\nprofessionals is like ruining the nation,\u201d said Cardinal Njue.<\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nSpeaking at the same forum when he
\ndelivered the keynote address, the Director of Radio Waumini, Rev. Fr. Charles
\nKinyua noted that terrorism, which is usually associated with radical religious
\nsects, is today showing its face in both political and mainstream religious
\norganisations, making it difficult to single out individuals who are terrorists
\nas Christians are also getting into it. <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nFr. Kinyua said terrorism is on the
\nrise because certain groups are seeking identity as they feel isolated from
\nmainstream society, noting that the groups are seeking to correct perceived
\ninjustices and do not care about the mode of correcting them.<\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nAt the same time, Fr. Kinyua urged
\nparents to guide their children on the use of the internet, adding that the
\ninternet can be dangerous and a source of destructive information. \u201cAs parents,
\nyou should accompany your children while they are using the internet,\u201d said Fr.
\nKinyua adding that \u201cIf we can\u2019t eliminate terrorism, we can reduce it through
\nvarious forums that address injustices\u201d. <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nFr. Kinyua warned religious leaders
\nagainst using religion as a way of seeking justice, saying there is need to
\n\u2018nurture tolerance and cultural understanding\u2019. <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nThe Kenya Christian Professionals
\nForum (KCPF) is a group of young Christian professionals from various
\ndenominations sharing common values on issues of family, life, religious
\nfreedom and social justice. The group was brought together by the conviction
\nthat the then proposed Kenyan constitution contained provisions that would substantively
\nalter the hitherto legal positions on the above four areas. <\/div>\n
