The Catholic
\nUniversity of Eastern Africa (CUEA)  is  seeking
\nto empower African Sisters  following the
\nSigning of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CUEA and African Sisters
\nEducation Collaborative (ASEC)  on 20th January 2014, at CUEA Lang\u2019ata Campus,
\nNairobi Kenya. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n <\/div>\n
\nThe MoU was
\nsigned by Msg. Dr. Pius Rutechura, Vice Chancellor, CUEA and Sr. Dr. Jane
\nWakahiu, the Executive Director of ASEC and Sisters Leadership Development
\nInitiative (SLDI) Project Manager. Also in attendance was Sr. Agnes Wamuyu,
\nExecutive Secretary of the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK); ASEC
\ncoordinators from Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and
\nZambia. Others who attended the ceremony were the Administration of the CUEA,
\nstaff and students.<\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nThe signing
\nof the Framework becomes the starting point of the long way of partnership
\nbetween CUEA and ASEC which seeks to empower African Sisters to develop
\ncreative and innovative skills sets through higher education, so that they can
\nefficiently serve the society.<\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nASEC\u2019s
\nmission is to facilitate educational opportunities for women religious in
\nAfrica which will enable them to enhance and expand access to educational,
\nhealthcare, social and spiritual services for the people they serve. ASEC is a
\nnot-for-profit organization that has been in existence since 2006.<\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\nUnder this
\nframework, five sisters joined CUEA this trimester for their studies, four in
\nthe Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and one in the Faculty of Commerce.<\/div>\n
