Rev. Charles Kasonde, Bishop of Solwezi Zambia on Thursday October 24, led students, staff members, parents and guardians of over 2100 students who have completed their studies in various faculties in a Eucharistic celebrations to thank God ahead of the 38<sup>th<\/sup> Graduation Ceremony held on Friday, October 25.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9341 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA5.jpg\" alt=\"CUEA5\" width=\"320\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA5.jpg 320w, https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA5-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>Also present during the Eucharistic Celebrations were members of the CUEA Council which included Rt. Rev. Maurice Muhatia Chairman of the Council and Bishop of Nakuru-Kenya, Council Members Rt. Rev. Sabino Odoki Ocan Bishop of Arua-Uganda, Rt. Rev. Martin Mtumbuka Bishop of Karonga-Malawi, Rt. Rev. Bernadine Mfumbusa Bishop of Kondoa-Tanzania, Rev. Fr. Anthony Makunde AMECEA Secretary General, Prof Apollinaria Elikana Pereka from Tanzania and Mrs. Bibiyana Bulaya-Kearns from Zambia. The chief guest for the graduation ceremony was Sr. Mary Persico, President of Marywood University, USA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9342\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA1.jpg\" alt=\"CUEA1\" width=\"320\" height=\"125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA1.jpg 320w, https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/CUEA1-300x117.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>\u201cWhat brings us here together is a noble duty to support our institution, the Catholic university of Eastern Africa. CUEA has always been an institution of memory, an institution of empowerment,\u201d Bishop Kasonde said during his Homily.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He thanked everyone for their contributions one way or the other towards the realization of the academic dreams of the graduating students. \u201cThank you very much for everything that you do individually and collectively to ensure that we grow from strength to strength through our concerted efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He urged the graduating students to be torch bearers of CUEA, radiating the light of Christ in the community where they shall be as guided by CUEA\u2019s motto <strong><em>Consecrate them in the Truth<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9340\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9340\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9340\" src=\"http:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Rt.-Rev.-Maurice-Muhatia.jpg\" alt=\"Rt. Rev. Maurice Muhatia reassured the University of their commitment as AMECEA Bishops towards ensuring that CUEA reclaims its former glory as it endeavours to become a world class university.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe have put our hands on the plough and as the Gospel says, \u2018He who puts his hand on the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of heaven.\u2019 We have placed our hands on the plough and we are not looking back because the glory of CUEA is too precious a prize for any of us to miss to partake of it,\u201d Bishop Muhatia said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe continue to appeal to each one of you, let us pool our resources together, let us remain united, struggling hard to achieve what we are working for, for our own benefit and for the benefit of the generations to come,\u201d Bishop Muhatia said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u223d<em>End<\/em>\u223d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<em>By Pamela Adinda, AMECEA Online News<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chancellor of Catholic University of Eastern Africa-CUEA Rt.
