\nKenya Conference of Catholic
\nBishops (KCCB) \u2013 National Family Life Programme is preparing to hold a
\nwalkathon \u201cFamily walk for life\u201d on 11th, October, 2014. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Chairman for National Family
\nLife Programme Rt. Rev. Salesius Mugambi who is also the Bishop of Meru is
\nexpected to flag off the walk at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi at
\n7.00 am and also to celebrate Holy Mass shortly after the walk at 12.00 noon.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSome of the issues to be addressed
\nat designated stopovers are abortion\/contraception, alcoholism and drug abuse,
\nhuman trafficking of children, reproductive health and reckless culture of
\nlife.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHis Holiness Pope Francis and
\nthe Church insist that life is sacred, should not be taken away but be
\nprotected, hence the call for the walkathon. Furthermore, the World is living
\nin a culture of death, therefore, it is the duty of the faithful to protect
\nlife.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHis Holiness also calls for
\nall to participate voluntarily, sacrifice, cultivate team spirit and face the
\nresponsibility with joy. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBelow is the prayer for the
\nevent whose theme is \u201cHuman Life is
\nSacred \u2013 Let us protect it<\/i>.\u201d<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nPRAYER FOR FAMILY LIFE WALKATHON DAY<\/b><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nO God  who were pleased to give us the shining
\nexample of the Holy Family of Nazareth, graciously grant that we may imitate
\nthem in practicing the virtues of family life and in the bonds of charity.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nWe thank you
\nfor the gift of our families and sanctity of life. Bless our parents and
\nchildren that they may continue making families centers open to life and true
\navenues of evangelizations.  Guide them
\nLord to be zealous in protecting the family values and promoting true identity
\nof Christian families. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBless our
\nleaders that they may make laws that respect sanctity of life, and protect it.
\nWe humbly request you Lord to grant parents wisdom to instruct their children
\nwell that families may become living examples of reconciliation, unity and
\npeace. Father, through the example and inspiration of the Holy Family of
\nNazareth may our families become holy, united and prayerful. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAccept Lord
\nto bless this day and all the walkers that every Kenyan may know, appreciate
\nand uphold the sanctity of human life. Be with us Lord and grant us the
\nstrength to announce your love for human life as a sacred gift.<\/div>\n
