Ferdinand Lugonzo has told youth gathering at the 11th<br \/>\nPan African Assembly of International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) that<br \/>\nthey must make deliberate moves towards building peace and making societies<br \/>\ninstruments of peace. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nFr Lugonzo was speaking to the youth<br \/>\nduring the Pan African International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) held<br \/>\nin Lusaka, Zambia from 4th<br \/>\n-10th October 2014. He said, \u201cAfrica is blessed with a<br \/>\nyouthful population. Unfortunately these great majorities of the population are<br \/>\nengaged in war and conflict,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nFr. Lugonzo said that there are three areas<br \/>\nthat IYCS must be presented in the society in order to promote full human<br \/>\ndevelopment and pursue the common good. \u201cThese include dialogue<br \/>\nwith states, dialogue with society which includes cultures and sciences; and finally<br \/>\nto dialogue with other believers,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n\u201cIf we have to make an impact, we need to<br \/>\nbe well founded in our faith. Is IMCS providing a solid foundation to its members?\u201d<br \/>\nFr. Lugonzo said adding that \u201cThis should lead the group to reflect on the kind<br \/>\nof programmes which accompany their activities.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nAccording to<br \/>\nMs. Catherine Wangui Njuguna, the Coordinator of Pan African Assembly of<br \/>\nInternational Movement of Catholic Students, every four<br \/>\nyears, the IMCS Family in Africa holds its Pan African Assembly which is the<br \/>\nhighest decision making body of the movement at the African Level. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nDuring this particular assembly IMCS<br \/>\nGender Policy will be launched as well as conducting of an election for new Pan<br \/>\nAfrican Team comprising of a Pan African Chaplain and two coordinators for a<br \/>\nperiod of 4-year.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n\u201cThe Pan<br \/>\nAfrican Assembly has the duties to evaluate IMCS relevance to the young people<br \/>\nin the continent, to the Church, to the community and generally its impact to<br \/>\nhumanity through its programs both at Individual, National, Pan African level,\u201d<br \/>\nsaid Ms. Njuguna. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\nThe<br \/>\nassembly also evaluate the strength of the movement structurally in its<br \/>\ndifferent National organs as well as the work of the Pan African Coordination<br \/>\nTeam and how they have implemented the orientations of the previous Assemblies.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\nAt the<br \/>\nsame time the assembly give voice to the African Youth to determine what issues<br \/>\nthey wish to help address in the continent for the coming 4 years (Thematic<br \/>\nAreas of Focus 2015 to 2018).<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; tab-stops: list 39.0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Source: Pamela Adinda, AMECEA Social Communications<\/i><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fr.
