\nThe Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC)
\nhas urged young Catholics to ignore calls by the world to redefine the original
\nGod\u2019s plan for marriage and remain Catholics.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nZEC Bishop Director for Pastoral, Laity, Ecumenism and Inter-religious Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga, SDB
\nsaid this when he addressed 70 students from 20 Africans countries gathered for
\nthe 11th Pan African Conference for catholic Students in Lusaka,
\nZambia.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop Mulenga who encouraged
\nyoung men to have courage of marriage and within the Catholic Church expressed
\nconcern that God\u2019s plan for marriage of man and woman is being changed to mean
\nthat even same sex can be in union as husband and wife.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cYoung women are saying the
\nyoung men in the Catholic Church are not courageous to marry them that\u2019s why
\nthey are marrying from outside. Young men become courageous and take care of
\nthe family and stick to what it means to be a family\u201d He said. \u201cWhen the world
\nsays, man can marry fellow man or woman to woman as husband and wife, you
\nshould not do that\u201d He added amid laughter from young students.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHis Lordship the Bishop of
\nKabwe Diocese emphasised that the ideal marriage must consist of man and woman and
\ncalled on young people to defend it.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop Mulenga also said
\nthat the Catholic Church is losing its youths to other faith and churches
\nespecially in tertiary learning institutions. \u201cWe are losing young people to
\nother doctrines especially Pentecostals but our concern is we do not have
\nenough chaplains\u201d He noted.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe added that the church is
\nworried of such develop because if they are lost then the Catholic Church will
\nnot be in existence in the future as young people have great contribution to
\nmake to mother church. \u201cDo not abandon your faith, try to do what it takes to
\ndefend it,\u201d he appealed.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe 11th Pan
\nAfrican Conference for Catholic Students has been running in Lusaka from 4th
\nto11th October, 2014. It attracted students and student chaplains
\nfrom 20 African countries including Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania and
\nZambia from AMECEA Region.<\/div>\n
